Rediscovering Pendulum Clock: The Antique Piece of Furniture

  A pendulum is a swinging weight that acts as a time-keeper for a pendulum clock . Christian Huygens invented this clock in 1656, and since then, it has been a precious piece of possession. It has gone through an evolution with time. Until the invention of the quartz clock in 1927, pendulum clocks were regarded as the most accurate timekeeping machine for years. The piece has become more of an antique and decorative value now. The pendulum wall clocks need to be kept stationary as any acceleration or motion can alter the pendulum speed. The considerable size of grandfather clocks has been decreased with time to fit our modern home décor.  Clocks being an integral part of a commercial or residential place, have always been in high demand. Albeit, wristwatches have been replaced by our smartphones, but wall clocks are still so famous for their practical value.
